Postpartum Support in Stockholm

Emotional support, nourishment, and practical help during the early postpartum period.

Support at home during the initial period

The first time with a newborn can often feel overwhelming. For most parents, it is an intense and transformative phase, where emotional support and practical help can make a meaningful difference.

A postpartum doula provides in-home support through compassionate conversations, gentle guidance, and practical assistance, helping to make the transition into life with a newborn feel calmer and more manageable.

Each visit is tailored to your needs on that particular day and may include emotional, physical, and practical support. This can involve helping you find comfort, give you massage, caring for older children, preparing meals, or assisting with household tasks.

How it works

We begin each visit with a conversation about how you and your baby are doing, and what your needs are on that particular day.

In this way, the support is always rooted in both your current situation and what we have talked about during pregnancy, allowing continuity and helping us gently decide together how best to spend our time.

Examples of support may include:

  • Helping you find a rhythm and build confidence in your new life as a parent
  • Guidance in reading and understanding your baby’s cues and needs
  • Gentle support to strengthen your confidence as a new parent
  • Support with physical and emotional recovery after birth
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Practical help (e.g. comfortable positioning, meal preparation, laundry, cleaning, or support with older children)

  • Extra hands in caring for your baby

  • Massage (using oils from Braido Organics), including connective tissue massage

  • Support in finding rest, wellbeing, and relaxation

  • Companionship and someone to talk to and share experiences with

FAQ

Can I book postpartum support during pregnancy?

We generally recommend booking postpartum support during pregnancy. This gives us the opportunity to get to know each other and plan together ahead of time.

Booking in advance also increases the likelihood that we will be able to support you and secure your place in our schedule.

Can I book postpartum support after the baby is already born?

Yes, it is possible, subject to availability. We primarily recommend booking during pregnancy, if possible.

If your baby has already been born, you are of course very welcome to get in touch with us to see if we are able to support you.

You are most welcome to contact us!

Do you offer breastfeeding support?

Breastfeeding support is included as part of our postpartum support. We do not offer breastfeeding support as a separate service. If more complex breastfeeding challenges arise, or if there are concerns regarding your baby’s health or weight, we recommend contacting a breastfeeding clinic or healthcare provider for additional guidance.

Do you offer overnight support?

We know that support during the night is often requested, especially by those who have previously experienced a challenging postpartum period.

However, we find that overnight support is most often not necessary when the mother receives help with establishing a functioning breastfeeding or feeding routine, support for her own recovery and wellbeing, guidance around sleep, and assistance in creating a safe and calm sleep environment for the baby.
